My fiancé and I are getting married in less than three weeks. I’m not sure when or how that happened, but here we are!
I am SO ready for the big day and to get to travel just the two of us afterwards. Our honeymoon plans changed a few times while I was hunting for the right thing, but we finally narrowed it down and got it booked!
We’ll be leaving bright and early Sunday morning after the wedding and driving down to New Orleans. I’m honestly a little sad that we’ll barely be missing Mardi Gras, but I’m excited nonetheless. We spend about 20 hours in NOLA two years ago when we went on a cruise, and I absolutely loved it, so I’m excited to go back and get to explore the city some more!
It’s a quick 5 hour drive from Memphis, and we’ll be catching the Pelicans vs. Lakers game that night. My fiancé is a Kobe guy, so we’re excited and sad at the same time to see them play. We were able to see his last game in Memphis against the Grizzlies.
We have four days in NOLA, which will probably be filled with exploring and food. I’m really interested in the history and the culture of the city, so I’m hoping to hop on a tour at some point. Thursday, we board the Carnival Valor and sail off to Cozumel on a four day cruise.
When we cruised in 2017, one of our stops was Cozumel and we both loved it. We explored the San Gervasio ruins and were blown away at how incredible the culture, history, and people were. We’re hoping to get to ferry over to the mainland and visit Tulum and get back in time to grab a margarita and hop back on the boat.
I’m looking for suggestions of things to do while in NOLA! We’re staying on the trolley line not too far from the French Quarter (but far enough away for some peace and quiet). If anyone has a favorite attraction, local spot, or restaurant, drop them in the comments below!
I’ll also be sharing some things I ordered for the trip in a few weeks. I want to get everything in and try them out before I share with you guys. All I’m going to say right now is that Amazon has some BOMB swimsuits!
Thanks for tuning in, see you guys next time!
